Ex-Chiefs Defender Set For MLS Move

Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Teenage Hadebe has returned to the Major League Soccer after his stint in the Turkish Superliga.

Hadebe, 28, spent last season at Konyaspor after three seasons in the MLS with Houston Dynamo where he won the 2022/23 United States Open Cup.

The Zimbabwe international has been a free agent after the expiry of his short-term deal in Turkey and now returned to the USA, joining FC Cincinnati, who currently sit third on the MLS log.

On Tuesday, the club confirmed the defender has penned a one-year deal with one-year option as they look to bolster their defensive options.

“I’m so happy to join FC Cincinnati,” Hadebe told Cincinnati’s media team.

“I’m excited to join up with the team and meet the fans at TQL stadium soon. I look forward to giving my all to fight for this club as we look to achieve our goals this season.”

Hadebe spent two years in South Africa with Chiefs between 2017 and 2019, racking up 39 appearances, with one goal and as many assists.
