FIFA Confirm Judgement On Mokwana Transfer Saga

FIFA have ordered Esperance Sportive de Tunis to pay the outstanding transfer fee of Elias Mokwana to Sekhukhune United by 30 January 2025 or face a transfer ban.

Mokwana, 25, joined Esperance with the two club’s agreeing a once-off transfer fee which has not been honoured, leading Sekhukhune to take the matter to the world football governing body.

The decision communicated to both clubs on 16 December stated the R7-million outstanding fee, plus 5% interest p/a from the 2 August when the transfer was finalised is due to Babina Noko.

Should this judgement not be adhered to by the end of next month, which is the designated 45-day period, Esperance will be banned from registering new players, nationally and internationally until the due amount is paid, according to the tribunal decision.

This ban will be effective for three consecutive transfer window periods, as per the document in possession of this publication.

In the wake of the off-field battle, Mokwana has excelled since joining the Tunisian giants, scoring four goals with two assists in 13 appearances across all competitions.
