Human Responds To Sundowns & Pirates Talk

Wanted Maritzburg United midfielder Rowan Human has responded to the latest transfer talk, insisting he doesn’t fancy playing in the Motsepe Foundation Championship next season.

Human saw his club relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship via the PSL Play-offs, where the former Bidvest Wits graduate was the star under unfortunate circumstances, scoring three of the four goals the Team of Choice netted.

Maritzburg chairman Farook Kadodia told this publication that he has been “flooded” with offers for both Human and Karim Kimvuidi, with interest from both locally and internationally, but he also stated that none have met the asking prizes of both players.

Both players have been linked with Pirates and Sundowns, among other teams, with Human confirming he wants to play top-flight football in 2023/24.

“I want to play in the top league, for sure,” Human told iDiski Times after the game against eSwatini.

“Where [exactly] I want to be, I don’t know. But as long as I’m playing football.”

Human has been one of the shining lights with the Bafana at the COSAFA Cup in Durban, helping them to seal a place in the semi-final of the regional competitions.

He was at his best in the 2-1 win against eSwatini at Princess Magogo Stadium on Tuesday night, and he also scored the equaliser against Namibia in the first match of the group stage.

Having experienced the trauma to have gone down, Human said to be with the makeshift Bafana squad came at the right time to clear his head.

“Yes, it has helped me a lot,” Human, who was reluctant to talk, said.

“You look at the play-offs, I did my best.”
