TS Galaxy have confirmed the transfer of Aphelele Teto to Scottish Premier League (SPL) side Livingston FC.
Teto, 20, was spotted by the Scottish side when the Rockets spent their mid-season break in Europe and made their intentions clear of bringing him on board.
While talks looked to have died down last month, the deal was rekindled in what said to be a four-year deal for the diminutive midfielder.
“We are quite pleased by the interest shown in Aphelele Teto by Livingston. It is not so often that a South African youngster signs with a UK-based Premier division club,” Chairman Tim Sukazi said.
While it marks the first overseas transfer for the Rockets, Teto admits he’s hoping this move can pave the way for more youngsters in the country to follow suit as he looks to make an impact on his move abroad.
“I am very happy to have the opportunity to play for Livingston FC in the Scottish Premiership. It has always been my childhood dream to play football in Europe,” Teto stated.
“I would like to thank TS Galaxy Football Club for giving me the opportunity to play professional football as well as our Head Coach for believing in me.
“I will do my best in Scotland and hopefully my performance could open many doors for other South African youngsters.”
