SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt has seemingly revealed that Christian Saile is only on loan at his club from Kaizer Chiefs.
Matsatsantsa confirmed the signing of Saile on 28 January without mentioning any details of the deal, while Chiefs had stated Saile’s departure was “part of a strategic swap deal” for Tashreeq Morris.
Despite the uncertainty around the details of Saile’s move to SSU, the winger featured against Amakhosi on Tuesday and was on the scoresheet in the 4-1 drubbing.
After the match, Hunt insisted the DR Congo international still needs a lot of work before admitting he thinks he will go back to Naturena anyway.
“Christian, he was never in our thought process. He was never in [our plans] to come here,” he stated.
“He just got thrown in my lap – ‘listen, Morris is going and we’re getting Saile’. [I said] ‘Oh, okay. What am I gonna do with him? I’ve got to try and find what I need to do with him’.

“But he’s got two-three goals, but he needs a lot of work. There’s a lot of things we need to do…
“But he’s not our player, I think he goes back to [Chiefs]. I’m not sure, I’m not in the board room.”
