Kaizer Chiefs Marketing and Commercial Director Jessica Motaung has praised the club’s academy as they are now in the process of assessing the squad in terms of transfers ahead the upcoming campaign.
Chiefs broke their 10-year trophy spell after winning the Nedbank Cup trophy, a feat that has given them passage to the CAF Confederation Cup next season.

There are players who will leave the club as their contracts come to an end and some not renewing. This season, Chiefs relied on new signings and young players who have come under pressure with indifferent results especially in the league.
Motaung said they are not looking at just buying but also promoting from their DDC side.
“But I think what’s also exciting is that we’ve done very well with the youth Academy,” she told Robert Marawa on Radio947.
“That’s something that we’ve invested in quite strongly and you’ve seen how youth have come in, even when we couldn’t sign players in the final for the Champions League.
“We had a very young squad but our DDC team has done exceptionally well and that’s also looking at how it’s not only just about buying players but how do we bring in the next crop of players from our youth Academy.
“That I think is something that Kaizer [Motaung Jr] and the team are doing very well.”
