Latest On Jali Future

Former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Andile Jali will meet his representatives in the coming weeks to discuss if he wants to continue playing or whether he will retire.

For the first time in over 12 years, Jali will finish a season as a free agent after leaving Moroka Swallows in December.

The former KV Oostende midfielder left Swallows after financial issues with the club which led to him not getting paid.

AJ made 13 appearances at Swallows and helped the side to be in the top five after the first nine matches before things went south.

Jali won seven league titles, five with Sundowns and two with Pirates. He also claimed a Nedank Cup and two Telkom Knockout trophies.

The 34-year-old is set to meet his representative Mike Makaab in the next few weeks so that they can decide, if he still wants to continue playing or he wants to retire.

“We are meeting with AJ in the next few weeks to discuss if he still wants to play,” Makaab told iDiski Times.

“If he says yes, obviously he will have to prepare himself, he is a professional and be ready for the upcoming season.”
