South African winger Gift Links produced an impressive showing against Ajax Amsterdam ahead the new Superliga season.
Links, 26, started against the Eredivisie giants and was afforded 30 minutes for some crucial competitive minutes after recovering from a recent injury, a week ahead of the new campaign in the Danish top-flight.
After two standout seasons, where Links has arguably developed into one of the key figures in the AGF squad, his consistency in his wing-back position shone again, with 31 touches, , 16/17 passes completed, one key pass and four out his five ground duels won.
This has once again seen the club’s supporters on social media call for the club to act swiftly to secure his future, with interest reportedly brewing from France and Germany this month.
According to Danish publication Bold, the club are in the process of tabling a new long-term contract, reflective of his importance to the club and fan base.
Links has amassed 171 games for the Danish club, with 13 goals and 17 assists since his arrival from Cape Town City back in 2019.
