Simba SC are in advanced talks with Mamelodi Sundowns to sign midfielder Neo Maema on loan.
Maema, 29, has struggled for regular first-team football in recent times and has expressed his desire for a move ahead of the new season.
Siwelele were reported to have shown interest in the player, but Simba have acted swiftly when learning about his availability, with sources at the Tanzanian club confirming the deal has been agreed for the 2025/26 season.
The impending move now casts doubt over his potential involvement in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) but with regular club football on offer and CAF Champions League football, he looks set to follow Rushine de Reuck from Chloorkop to Dar es Salaam.
Since joining the club from Bloemfontein Celtic in 2021, Maema has racked up 120 games, scoring 13 goals with 14 assists – while winning the league in each of the last four seasons.
