Former Chippa United and Baroka FC coach Morgan Mammila has revealed he is returning to football in a new role, saying it’s a huge one.

Mammila was with the Gqeberha-based side last season but finished the last six months of his contract working from home, as the side finished the season in 13th position in the league with 28 points.

The rumour mill has linked Mammila with a head coaching job at relegated Magesi FC, however he told iDiski Times writer Lethabo Kganyago in edition 262 of the newspaper that his new role will not be a head coach.

“All I can say, there is a big project that I’m going to lead, and I’m happy,” Mammila told iDiski Times.

“I’m looking forward to it, and it’s a big one. It’s a big one, and I look back where I come from, and I see that oh, it’s similar, but this one is huge. It’s big. I’ve recharged, I think I’m ready to take football to the next level.”

‘The club will do the announcement’

Pressed for more information in this role Mammila said he doesn’t want to upstage the club he will be working with by disclosing details.

“Surely it’s going to happen in the transfer window,” added Mammila.

“I think the club that I’m busy with, I’m engaged with, they will do the announcement. So, I think I’m leaving it to the club so that they can do how they do things.

“But it is a big project, and I’m looking forward to it. One thing for sure, I’m not going to be the head coach, I’m going to be in charge of running that club.”
