Matthews’ First Words After Joining Masandawana

New Mamelodi Sundowns signing Tashreeq Matthews has spoken for the first time since his deadline day signing.

Matthews, who signed from Swedish side Sirius on Friday, was unveiled by the club officially after he arrived in South Africa on Saturday.

The 23-year-old, who has been playing in Europe since 2018, was one of the best-performing South Africans abroad last year, scoring ten goals and getting nine assists in the Swedish Allsvenskan.

“I feel honoured to be at the club — for me personally, the best club in the country!” Matthews said in the unveiling video.

“At a team like Sundowns, who believes in perfection and discipline, that’s what you need to win trophies and I’m excited to be part of this journey.”
