The Golden Boot winner of the 2024/25 Motsepe Foundation Championship, Muzomuhle Khanyi is set to join Stellenbosch FC ahead of the new season.
Khanyi, 26, has been in sublime form with Hungry Lions, scoring 18 league goals in 22 starts for the second-tier outfit which naturally attracted attention from several top-flight clubs.
However, sources within the club have confirmed the prolific forward is set to join Stellenbosch, who have been in the market for a new striker to bolster their attacking options.
Khanyi is set to join the likes of Ashley Cupido and Lehlohonolo Mojela at Steve Barker’s side, who have set their sights on back-to-back qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup.
Mojela’s long-term knee injury this season proved a major blow to their season, after he netted six goals in his first nine games after signing from TS Galaxy – as he looked poised to be the perfect replacement for Iqraam Rayners, who had joined Mamelodi Sundowns.
But their latest addition will be seen as the perfect addition to increase their attacking threat, with 34 goals scored in 27 league games this season – with the publication being informed he’s penned a three-year deal.
Khanyi has scored 29 league goals in 80 games (46 starts) for Hungry Lions over the past three seasons since joining the club from Platinum City Rovers in 2022.
