Orlando Pirates star Relebohile Mofokeng is set to join Union Saint-Gilloise in the Belgian Pro League.

Mofokeng, 21, showed glimpses of his quality at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, even though he didn’t start the first two games.

However, he impressed in his cameo off the bench against Czechia as well as the 1-0 win over South Korea, with interest rising in his services.

According to reports from Nieuwsblad, St. Gilloise are close to reaching a club-to-club agreement with Pirates.

The club have offered Mofokeng a four-year deal and the attacking midfielder is expected to travel straight to Belgium from the US in order to complete the move.

St. Gilloise have tracked Mofokeng for a while and are keen to complete the deal in order to beat competition to his signature.

Mofokeng made 27 games for Pirates last season, scoring 10 goals and setting up another eight to help the club to their first Betway Premiership title in 14 years.

Overall, he has made 125 appearances for the Buccaneers, scoring 29 times and setting up 31 more.

Former Mamelodi Sundowns Head of Academy, Shawn Bishop works as Head of Methodology at the Belgian side, while former Orlando Pirates assistant coach Chris O’Loughlin works as the club’s Sporting Director.

Saint Gilloise won their first Jupiler Pro League title in 90 years in 2024/25 and second last season. Thus, they will enter the third qualification round of the UEFA Champions League in the upcoming campaign.
