Polokwane City head coach Willy Moloto has wished the side’s former right-back Thabang Matuludi all the best as he starts his journey as a Mamelodi Sundowns player.
Matuludi, 27, completed his move to the two-time African champions last week having been a big subject of interest from Orlando Pirates for a few transfer windows.
The Bafana Bafana international was a key member of the Rise and Shine squad for the past five seasons helping them gain promotion back to topflight and helping them finish in the top eight in the last three terms.
He didn’t play any games for City this season with Moloto insisting to media that he was not being selected because of rotation and others being better than him adding that he’d finish the campaign at City.
Following the 1-1 Betway Premiership draw with Kaizer Chiefs at home on Saturday, the coach laughed off questions on what has happened between the last time he declared Matuludi not leaving the Limpopo side while also wishing him all the best at his new club.
“That one is another issue my brother also Chiefs they lost [Thabo] Cele to Sundowns, but what I could say to Thabang is all the best son,” said Moloto.
“And I think the young man has been doing well.
“And if you could look at Polokwane City is a team that produces the unknown.
“Like I said with my last interview to say there is a gem that we are working with. You could see that [Tshepang] Matube is one for the future, and I think he’s another one to see in future in the right-back.”
