Monare Secures New Move After Pirates

Bafana Bafana midfielder Thabang Monare has secured a move to Sekhukhune United after his exit at Orlando Pirates.

Monare, 34, was part of the South Africa national team squad that secured third place at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

However, he fell out of favour under Jose Riveiro at Pirates and his exit upon the expiry of his contract came as no surprise.

Monare was spotted on Monday as the squad resumed for pre-season preparations and iDiski Times sources has confirmed he’s put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal.

Babina Noko will have an option to extend the deal by a further season when his original two-year deal comes to an end with the experienced midfielder.

He’s expected to fill the void left by Kamohelo Mokotjo, who has left the club in a player-plus cash deal to Cape Town City.
