Nasreddine Nabi’s move to Raja Athletic Club has hit a snag after his arrival in Casablanca today, with two new names now current engaged in talks.
Nabi, 60, has agreed a deal in principle to see off the current Botola Pro season with the club as the official successor to Fadlu Davids, who parted ways with the club on Friday morning.
The former Kaizer Chiefs mentor, agreed on the terms, that would expire at the end of the 2026/27 season, with an option to extend. However, this was not part of the official contract offer upon arrival.
Sources have confirmed Sven Vandenbroeck, the former Wydad head coach and Youssef Safri, a club legend are now mooted for the role, with Nabi not keen on the official offered terms.
It remains to be seen whether the deal can be revived or Raja will now opt for another candidate as they look to stay in bid for the title race – where they are in fifth, four points behind league leaders RS Berkane.
While Nabi is not completely out of the picture as yet, and currently still in Morocco, time is ticking as the club looks to secure a new leader swiftly to finish off the season with seven rounds of fixtures remaining.
