Motsepe Foundation Championship side University of Pretoria are close to signing Mamelodi Sundowns forward Abubeker Nasir.
This publication has been reliably informed that Nasir is set to join AmaTuks on a season-long loan, as he looks to revive his career after being on sidelines for quite some time.
The Ethiopian international had a bright start to his career at Sundowns where he scored three goals in his first five matches.
But then he got injured in a clash against Orlando Pirates and only returned three months later, immediately making his mark when he scored in the CAF Champions League against Cameroon side Coton Sport.
But the 25-year-old struggled to make his full return as injuries kept him out. The former Ethiopia Bunna forward was loaned out to SuperSport United last season, but he never played an official game.
His arrival at AmaTuks could see him reviving his career under Kwanele Kopo who is known for giving players a second chance and building their character after he’s done similar with Oswin Appollis at Pretoria Callies.
