Al Ahly have confirmed the signing of Ahmed Sayed Zizo who joins in a controversial free transfer from fierce rivals Zamalek SC.
Zizo, 29, emerged as one of the leading performers in African football and an ever-present figure in the national team since joining the White Knights from Portuguese side Moreirense six years ago.

With over 150 goal contributions in 260 games, he was the proverbial king of Cairo and considered the finest talent in the Egyptian Premier League, making his switch to the Red Devils all the more antagonising for the Zamalek supporters.
He won two league titles, Egypt Cup twice, CAF Confederation Cup twice, CAF Super Cup twice, Egypt Super Cup and one Golden Boot during his time at the club.
He will now form part of Jose Riveiro’s squad at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States of America.
