Chelsea Football Club have continued their massive spending spread and announced the signing of Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid.
The 24-year-old signed a six-year contract with an option at Stamford Bridge, becoming the club’s 11th signing this window already.
The Blues have reportedly transferred €52 million to Atletico, with the LALIGA side also holding a sell-on clause for the Portugal international.
“I’m really happy to be back at Chelsea and I can’t wait to get started,” Felix told Chelsea’s website.
“I can see some familiar faces from the last time I was here, which is always nice.
“I loved my time here before and I told my friends and family that I’d love to return to the Premier League one day. To do that with Chelsea is a great feeling and I’m excited to be back.”
It’s Felix’s second spell at Stamford Bridge after a loan in the second half of 2022/23, when he scored four goals in 20 appearances.
The 24-year-old came through Benfica’s academy before breaking into the first team ahead of a €127 million move to Atletico Madrid in 2019.
