Official: Chiefs Announce Next Departure

Kaizer Chiefs have announced the departure of Phathutshedzo Nange upon the expiry of his contract, the club confirmed on Thursday.

The news come after Amakhosi started their preparations for the 2023/24 campaign on Thursday.

Last season, Amakhosi finished in fifth place, with a record-breaking number of 12 defeats, which has cast a doubt over Arthur Zwane’s future.

While the club is still in talks with former Young Africans SC coach Nasreddine Nabi, they started with “player updates” on Thursday, announcing the departure of the 31-year-old midfielder.

“Phathutshedzo Nange has been released by the Club on the expiry of his contract. The 31-year-old signed for Amakhosi from Stellenbosch FC in July 2021. Nange played a total of 31 games and scored two goals in all competitions,” the club stated.

Nange played just five games in the 2022/23 campaign under Zwane, his last coming in February 2023.
