The South African international joined the Tunisian outfit in 2024 from Sekhukhune United. In his first season in Tunisia Ligue 1 he scored seven goals with four assists in 38 appearances.
However he was loaned out to Al Hazem in the Saudi Pro League and the deal wasn’t made permanent which lead to Mokwana being on the sidelines, as his club had filed all their foreign player spots.
This development saw the player eventually mutually part ways with the club as he also seeks game time to be able to return to the national team.
He has now been announced by Amakhosi becoming the side’s seventh signing under Fernando Da Cruz who is looking to address the side’s challenges in attack.

“Kaizer Chiefs have signed Bafana Bafana international Elias Mokwana. The talented winger joins the Club after gaining valuable experience in North Africa and the Middle East,” the club stated.
“The 27-year-old, who hails from KwaMhlanga in Mpumalanga, returns to South African football after spending the past two seasons abroad following his move from Sekhukhune United to Tunisian giants, Espérance Sportive de Tunis, in 2024.
“Welcome to the Kaizer Chiefs Family.”
Chiefs are currently the third-highest scoring side in the Betway Premiership with 14 goals in nine outings. Current log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns have the most goals, 27 in 10 games followed by second placed Orlando Pirates with 21 in nine encounters.
