Official: Ex-Sundowns Winger Mkhuma Lands New Club

Former Mamelodi Sundowns winger Promise Mkhuma has joined Motsepe Foundation Championship side Upington City.

Mkhuma was touted as one of the brightest prospects at Sundowns but has seen his career stagnate due to a lack of first-team opportunities.

His loan spells away from the club also failed to ignite his undoubted potential and he’s now taken the same route as his former teammate Keletso Makgalwa.

The attacking duo once lit up the reserve league in South Africa and like Mkhuma, Makgalwa was at a career crossroads before his move to Bafana Ba Gucci.

After starring for a single season in the second tier, he earned a lucrative move back to the top-flight with Sekhukhune United, where he’s impressed as an ever-present figure showcasing his attacking flair and danger in the final third.

The 24-year-old Mkhuma made 23 appearances for Sundowns, with no goals or assists since being promoted to the first team back in January 2020.
