Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Andile Jali has completed a sensational move to Swallows FC ahead of the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season.
Jali, 33, has been a free agent since mutually parting ways with Sundowns where he was frozen out the squad after the January transfer window.
Orlando Pirates, AmaZulu, Royal AM were among the clubs said to be keen on his services, while his agent Mike Makaab confirmed there were a couple of enquiries in Asia.
However, it became apparent that Swallows would make a move shortly after the appointment of Steve Komphela as head coach, with the duo sharing a close relationship.
“I’m very happy to announce that Andile Jali will be joining Moroka Swallows,” chairman David Mogashoa stated on Gagasi FM.
“I’m very happy to announce that Andile Jali is the first player Moroka Swallows has signed.”
Before joining Swallows, Jali won eight trophies, including five consecutive league titles in his five seasons with the Tshwane-based giants.
