Abubeker Nasir has returned to his home country, joining Mechal SC on a two-year deal from Mamelodi Sundowns.
Nasir, 26, burst onto the scene in South Africa, scoring three goals in his first five matches.
However, he then picked up a serious injury in a clash with Orlando Pirates and was sidelined for several months.
Upon his return he immediately left his mark again when he scored in the CAF Champions League against Cameroon side Coton Sport.
But he never fully found back to his early Sundowns form, and was then loaned out to SuperSport United and AmaTuks, but never featured for either side.
Overall, he has made 17 appearances for Sundowns, scoring four goals.
He has now returned to his home country, joining Mechal on a two-year deal, as per Soccer Ethiopia, in a bid trying to revive his career.
During the 2020/21 campaign, he set the all-time Ethiopian Premier League record, scoring 29 goals in just 24 matches, also sweeping the Best player, Top scorer and Top scorers awards.
