Official: Stellenbosch Announce 2nd 2023/24 Signing

Stellenbosch FC have completed the signing of former South Africa youth international Thabo Moloisane on a free transfer.

The 24-year-old defender joins the club on a “long-term deal”, as previously reported by iDiski Times.

The Mamelodi Sundowns academy product was in the books of recently relegated Maritzburg United for a season, making 27 appearances across all competitions.

The move to Stellenbosch sees Moloisane return to the Western Cape where he previously captained Cape Town All Stars in the National First Division.

He also represented South Africa at the FIFA U20 World Cup and CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations in 2019, and will help Stellies with his versatility in defence.

“Thabo Moloisane is a player with a lot of experience both at PSL and NFD level,” head coach Steve Barker said.

“He is a player who has shown his leadership qualities at every club he has played for.

“We also believe that he is an underrated footballer who will flourish and develop into a really top centre- back with us at the club, with the added benefit of his versatility.”

Moloisane becomes Stellies second arrival after completing the signing of goalkeeper Oscarine Masuluke from Baroka.
