After the 2023/24 DStv Premiership fixtures have been revealed, here are the first 10 opponents of defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns, who face both Soweto giants in the first half of the new campaign.
The 2023/24 DStv Premiership fixtures have been sent out to clubs for feedback regarding the allocation of stadiums, and iDiski Times got hold of the document.
Sundowns start their title defence against Sekhukhune United away from home, a fixture that Masandawana has never lost since Babina Noko gained promotion back in 2020/21 season.
Four days later, Downs will welcome Kaizer Chiefs in a mouthwatering clash at Loftus Versfeld Stadium. Last season, Masandawana completed the double over Amakhosi, taking six points from Arthur Zwane’s men after beating them 4-0 in the first round and 1-0 in the second round.
Lamontville Golden Arrows will be the next opponent for Downs in the capital city before they will be travelling to KwaZulu-Natal to face Richards Bay, whom they beat three times last season, including in a Nedbank Cup.
Afterwards, they will have a trip to Limpopo, where they will face newly-promoted Polokwane City before welcoming Chippa United at home.
On match day six, a much-anticipated clash against Orlando Pirates awaits when last season’s table toppers will face the runners-up and cup-double winners at Orlando Stadium.
The game against Pirates is followed by an interesting home encounter against Steve Barker’s Stellenbosch FC, who knocked them out of the Nedbank Cup last season.
They round off their first 10 games with a trip to Royal AM before hosting Moroka Swallows.
