Stellenbosch FC have announced the exit of Anicet Oura, who joined Qatari side Muaither on loan, as previously reported by iDiski Times.
Oura joined Stellies from Ivory Coast giants ASEC Mimosas at the beginning of last season and the 24-year-old hit the road running in the then DStv Premiership, scoring eight goals and assisting on two occasions.
He helped Stellies win the Carling Knockout Cup last season, the club’s first ever trophy, but had seemingly seen the club as springboard for an overseas move.
“Stellenbosch Football Club can confirm that Ivorian international Anicet Oura has joined Qatari side Muaither SC on a season-long loan,” the club stated.
“We wish to thank Anicet for his professionalism and commitment during his time in Stellenbosch and look forward to following his progress as he embarks on a new journey in Qatar.”
Oura is the club’s latest departure after Deano Van Rooyen joined Orlando Pirates, Iqraam Rayners’ move to Mamelodi Sundowns and Antonio Van Wyk’s transfer to SV Ried.
