Stellenbosch FC have announced the signing of former Orlando Pirates striker Sinoxolo Kwayiba from Chippa United.
Kwayiba, 26, joined the Buccaneers at the beginning of last season but left in January already to return to the Chilli Boys after making just four appearances for Pirates.
At Chippa, though, he managed to rediscover his form, scoring six goals in just 15 appearances, which resulted in the Cape Winelands side making of move for the Bafana Bafana International.
“Stellenbosch Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of South Africa international striker Sinoxolo Kwayiba on a permanent transfer from Chippa United,” the club stated on Thursday.
“Kwayiba has signed a long-term contract with Stellenbosch FC after completing a transfer from Chippa United, where he scored 16 goals in 51 league appearances, either side of a spell with Orlando Pirates.
“The 26-year-old is also a full international for South Africa with five caps to his name. He previously represented Bafana Bafana at the 2024 COSAFA Cup and scored his first goal for his country in a friendly win over Mozambique last year.
Stellenbosch FC CEO, Rob Benadie, said: “Sinoxolo is an exciting player who we have admired for some time, so we are delighted to welcome him to the Club.
“He is a proven goalscorer and match-winner who has consistently displayed his ability to compete at the highest level, and we believe he will be a valuable addition to our squad.”
