Breaking: Pirates Announce 5 Extensions & 1 Exit

Orlando Pirates have announced the extensions of five players, while Collins Makgaka’s deal was terminated.

The Buccaneers are continuing their plans for the 2023/24 season, and have now announced that Vincent Pule is among the players, who have signed new deals.

“Orlando Pirates Football Club can announce that Vincent Pule has signed a new contract extension with the Club, penning a deal that will see the 31-year-old remain at the club until 2025 (2026 should the club exercise its option),” the club stated.

“Pule, who has made 135 appearances for the Buccaneers, netting 31 goals and 11 assists, is currently in Rustenburg with the rest of the squad as they prepare for the start of the 2023/24 campaign.

“His 2022/23 season was plagued by injury, limiting him to only 19 appearances, netting two goals.”

Alongside Pule, goalkeeper duo Richard Ofori and Siyabonga Mpontshane also penned new deals, with Ofori’s running until 2024, plus a one-year option, while Mpontshane runs to the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

In addition, Thabang Monare and Ben Motshwari have also signed new one-year deals.

The club also confirmed the termination of Makgaka, who joined the club from Baroka in 2020, but only managed to make 24 appearances for the Buccaneers over three campaigns.

Last season, he only featured for 42 minutes across four substitute appearances.
