Richards Bay have released Luvuyo Memela after just one season at the club in their debut DStv Premiership campaign.
Memela, 35, was regarded as a major coup for the new promoted side after an incredible season at AmaZulu in the 2021/22 campaign.
The fleet-footed winger scored nine goals in 36 games as they reached the CAF Champions League group stages under Benni McCarthy and finished inside the top-eight.
However, he was surprisingly released and joined the fellow KZN outfit but things didn’t go to plan, as he failed to score a single in 24 games in a real jekyll and hyde season for the Natal Richboyz.
Memela has now returned to Cape Town for the off-season and will look towards finding a new club.
Meanwhile, iDiski Times understands his former Orlando Pirates teammate Ntsikelelo Nyauza will likely be joining him out the exit door, as previously reported by this website.
The 33-year-old, who joined the club from Pirates, made 22 appearances for Bay in 2022/23.
