Sapunga Lands New Club After PLK Exit

Polokwane City goalkeeper Manuel Sapunga has joined fellow Betway Premiership outfit Sekhukhune United on a two-year deal.

Sapunga, 32, joined Rise and Shine in July 2022, amassing over 40 appearances, keeping 19 clean sheets while conceding 36 goals in the process.

The Equatorial Guinea international will see his contract coming to an end today (30 June) and has since opted not to extend his stay at the Limpopo-based club.

With Renaldo Leaner the only shotstopper at the club after Ali Badre Sangare and Lloyd Kazapua left, and with Cape Town City’s Darren Keet a target for Babina Noko, Sapunga will not find it easy should he look to earn the club’s number one jersey.
