Sekhukhune Confirm Next Exit

Sekhukhune United have confirmed the departure of goalkeeper Badra Ali Sangare after three seasons at the club.

The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations gold medallist arrived at the Limpopo side at the start of the 2022/23 season and has gone on to make 140 appearances for Babina Noko across all competitions in his tenure, where managed 48 clean sheets.

The 39-year-old Ivorian was key in the side finishing fourth in the league with 46 points last season.

There has also been reports about the signing of two foreign keepers at Sekhukhune, that of former Polokwane City goal minder Manuel Sapunga and the return of Lloyd Kazapua to the side coupled with the reported target of Dareen Keet to the side as replacements.

The club thanked Sangare for his services and wished him well for his future endeavours.

“Today we say goodbye to our shot-stopper, Badra Ali Sangaré, who joined Babina Noko on 1 July 2022.

“Your safe hands, big saves, and fearless heart made us proud every time you stepped on the pitch. It’s been an honour having you, guard our posts.

“Our name echoed across the whole of Africa, when you collected your coveted gold medal, as an African Champion.

“You’ll always be part of this family. We wish you nothing but success, in your next chapter.”
