Stellenbosch FC are close to sealing a move for midfielder Thato Khiba despite late interest from Orlando Pirates.
The 28-year-old has been a revelation since joining Galaxy from Marumo Gallants in July 2023 and returning into a more familiar central midfield role.
During his time with Gallants, where they reached the CAF Confederation Cup semi-finals, he was fielded in a right-back role.
His versatility and consistency in multiple roles have now seen him emerge as a prime target from several clubs in the league, with Stellenbosch previously making a move for him in the off-season.
However, they have now returned with fresh terms to TS Galaxy, while Pirates, who are in the market for a versatile midfielder who could play in six and eight roles have also made contact, according to insiders at the Rockets.
But it’s likely Steve Barker’s outfit who will land the deal, having already submitted an official offer to Galaxy President, Tim Sukazi.
The Kaizer Chiefs academy product has featured 38 times for Galaxy, with two goals and three assists to his name.
