Mamelodi Sundowns have welcomed back Steve Komphela who will serve as Senior Coach in the club’s new Technical Team.
Masandawana had sacked head coach Rulani Mokwena earlier in the week, stating Manqoba Mngqithi will be in charge of pre-season.
On Saturday, the club confirmed the return of Komphela to “assist Manqoba Mngqithi and the Technical Team”.
“Mamelodi Sundowns today welcomed Steve Komphela who will serve as Senior Coach and will assist Manqoba Mngqithi and the Technical Team,” the club stated.
“Mamelodi Sundowns is currently training in South Africa for the upcoming season and will be leaving in a few days to Austria as part of its pre season preparations.”
Komphela left Sundowns ahead of the 2023/24, initially taking over at Moroka Swallows before their financial struggles started. He left Swallows in February and took charge of Golden Arrows in March.
It’s his second stint at Chloorkop after initially joining in October 2020.
