Mamelodi Sundowns defender Thato Sibiya is closing in on a move to LOSC Lille ahead of the 2026/27 French Ligue 1 season.
Sibiya, 20, has emerged as one of the brightest talents in South African football and was part of the U20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) winning squad in 2025 and went on to star at the U20 FIFA World Cup in Chile.
His immense ability saw him promoted to the first team, where he featured four times, whilst still featuring prominently in the DStv Diski Challenge squad.
He was part of the first team in their pre-season in Austria, but is now set for a move to France, with a loan with an option to buy agreed with Masandawna, iDiski Times can reliably confirm.
Sibiya has been identified as a player for the future for the French club, with Sundowns open to the deal, despite holding him in high regard.
He’s set to be the third official exit, after Peter Shalulile left upon the expiry of his contract and Terrence Mashego on loan to Stellenbosch FC.
