Tefu – Chiefs Must Beat Pirates To This Signing

Former Kaizer Chiefs defender and captain Tefu Mashamaite says his former side should step up efforts to secure Oswin Appollis before their rivals Orlando Pirates beat them to the winger’s signature.

Appollis, 23, has been in the headlines for two successive transfer windows, with Chiefs having been the first to the chase in the last window but could not secure him.

This time around reports have widely linked the Bafana Bafana international with Amakhosi and the Buccaneers, however his club Polokwane City have been adamant they will hold on to their best asset.

Mashamaite told iDiski Times writer Lethabo Kganyago in edition 188 of the newspaper that Appollis would be a good fit at Naturena and the club should be aggressive in their efforts to sign him.

“Definitely he can and I’m surprised why they [Chiefs] are taking so long to get him,” Mashamaite told iDiski Times.

“You know, he’s at the peak of his career and I feel like he’s ready for a big move to a big club and like right now, at Chiefs he can fit in very well. He can create nice combinations with the likes of [Mduduzi] Shabalala and Sirino”.

“So I feel like they should like really be aggressive because there’s competition. Like he’s been linked to Pirates as well, Pirates is doing well at the moment, so it will be attractive maybe for him to go to Pirates. But I feel like Chiefs should be aggressive because he will definitely be an asset”.
