Former Royal AM attacker Mfundo Thikazi has joined Cape Town City ahead of the start of the 2026/27 season.
The left-footed attacker spent the last six months with Casric Stars in the Motsepe Foundation Championship after joining the club in January this year.
Thikazi was brought in to help Casric secure promotion to the Betway Premiership. However, the Mpumalanga-based outfit fell short, finishing fourth in the league standings.
He was also one of Casric’s key players during the club’s impressive Nedbank Cup run, which ended in the semi-finals following a 1-0 defeat to Durban City.
Thikazi joins the likes of Thabang Monare, Parslie Fielies and Marcelo Suarez, who have also recently arrived as Cape Town City continue strengthening their squad ahead of the new campaign.
The Citizens will be aiming for a promotion to the Betway Premiership after failing to secure it through the PSL Promotional/Relegation Playoffs, which were won by Milford.
