Sekhukhune United are set to welcome new head coach Eric Tinkler on Monday, alongside an exciting new addition to the technical team.
On Thursday evening, Lehlohonolo Seema parted ways with Sekhukhune, shortly after their defeat to relegation-threatened Richards Bay, which dropped them out the top three of the league.
Seema has been on the ropes at the club, with the clear target this season to solidify their place in the top three and improve on the fourth place position of last season, which also qualified them for the CAF Confederation Cup.
After significant investment into the playing squad and technical team, it’s been suggested the return of 26 goals in 23 games, while conceding 23 goals and losing to Royal AM, TS Galaxy and the Natal Richboyz did not go down well with management.
This added to not qualifying for the group stages of the Confederation Cup speaks to the ambitions of the owners who are demanding year on year growth to the club, which has thus far been one of the standout teams since being promoted to the top-flight.
Tinkler looks set to take charge on Monday, which was supposedly after the Nedbank Cup quarter-final against Mamelodi Sundowns this weekend, in which Kaitano Tembo and Paulus Masehe were said to be in charge.

And he’s expected to be joined by former Orlando Pirates, and Cape Town City left-back Marc van Heerden as part of his technical team.
Tinkler comes after his stint at Cape Town City with over a decade of experience in coaching and two trophies to his name, the Telkom Knockout and MTN8, won with City in his first stint and the latter with SuperSport United.
The Bafana Bafana legend parted ways with the Citizens in December after a string of indifferent results, but thus far the changes at the club have not seen an upturn in fortunes despite massive wins over Kaizer Chiefs and Pirates under Muhsin Erturgal.
Having started his coaching career at Pirates, Tinkler also had spells at Maritzburg and Chippa United between the SuperSport and City jobs since 2013.
