After Orlando Pirates announced the signing of Sipho Mbule on Tuesday, here is how glaringly new head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou had spoken about the midfielder.
Mbule, 27, left Mamelodi Sundowns after Masandawana opted against renewing his contract, and was snatched up on a free transfer by the Buccaneers, who announced his signing on Tuesday.
Ouaddou has not yet publicly spoken out since he was announced as new Pirates coach on Monday, as he is only arriving back in South Africa later this week, with the Buccaneers starting their pre-season on 27 June.
However, he did speak about Mbule in a recent interview with Robert Marawa, saying he is a player – alongside Neo Maema – he’d like to sign.
“Another player, I love him, his style of play,” he said on Radio947 – then in his capacity as Marumo Gallants coach.
“And I know that maybe his behaviour is not so good, but I think it’s a question of management. These players need management, somebody to be close to them.
“To make them understand that they are good players, but they have to manage their lifestyle – it’s Mbule.
“Mbule is a fantastic player, it’s the kind of player I’d like to have in my team.”
