Zim Winger Finally Set To Make PSL Switch?

Zimbabwe winger Daniel Msendami could be set to leave Jwaneng Galaxy ahead of the new season, as several Premier Soccer League clubs are looking at the soon free agent.

Msendami spent two seasons with the defending Botswana Premier League champions after he joined the side on loan in his first campaign from Zimbabwean giants Highlanders FC, scoring nine goals and setting up 13 more.

The 23-year-old completed a permanent move to Galaxy, and continued his superb form, netting 12 goals and setting up 16 more across all competitions.

The speedy winger also made six-goal contributions in the Orange FA Cup and led them to the final which is scheduled to be played on Saturday, June 15. They take on Orapa United.

Msendami scored the most important goal for Galaxy in their 1-0 first-leg win over Orlando Pirates in the CAF Champions League preliminary round in Botswana. They saw off the Buccaneers in the second leg at Orlando Stadium with a 5-4 penalty shootout victory to advance to the group stages of Africa’s premier club competition.

This publication understands that Galaxy are sweating over his future and are trying to keep the talented youngster, who has been linked with various clubs, including TP Mazembe, Simba SC and Kaizer Chiefs, according to reports in Botswana.

A close source confirmed to iDiski Times that it would nearly be impossible to keep him but they will do all they can.

“Msendami is talented, without any doubts he deserves to play in a better league and compete for big things. We will try to keep him, even though it’s [near] impossible,” a source close to Galaxy told this publication.

Galaxy, who are coached by South African tactician Morena Ramoreboli, guided Jwaneng to two consecutive Botswana Premier League titles, and could add the Orange FA Cup to their trophy cabinet for a rare league and cup double.
