Sekhukhune United head coach Eric Tinkler has admitted that he had an affection before the meeting former club Cape Town City but that he equally wanted three points.
City find themselves in unfamiliar position in the league table and have gone 12 matches without a win. The Cape Town-based side also changed coaches three times this season something they have never done before.
Tinkler started the season, but he was dismissed following a poor run of results. Muhsin Ertugral was then roped in, initially in a Technical Director role, but took charge of football matters on the pitch on an interim basis. He too was given the boot after just a few games with Diego Peral now having taken over alongside Roger de Sa.
Babina Noko beat City for the third time this season, twice in the league and once in the Nedbank Cup and the recent clash was one of the most interesting ones considering that Tinkler recently left City.
The former Orlando Pirates mentor admitted that it was tricky for him to prepare for this game and to look at the situation City find themselves in, but he had to deliver because they also wanted to win.

“I have an affection for all the clubs that I’ve coached, because I’ve been there and I’ve experienced the people, and I know the people, and a lot of those people have become good friends, you know, like the man next to me, they become good friends, you know,” Tinkler told the media.
“But match-day is about competition. It’s about wanting to win.
“So that was the case today. Me wanting to win, you know, but do I want to see Cape Town City in the predicament that it’s in? No, I don’t.
“I wouldn’t, because I think it’s a great football club, and I think the PSL would be less without them.”
