Bafana Bafana will be without the midfield duo of Teboho Mokoena and Bathusi Aubaas ahead of Sunday’s friendly international against Egypt.
The clash is set for the Cairo International Stadium at 21h00 with the two sides once again renewing their rivalry after the Pharaohs claimed a 1-0 win over Bafana in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations group stage.
Head coach Pitso Mosimane will also be looking to make a wholesome changes to his two teams that beat Guinea 2-1 and Eritrea 5-0 in their 2027 CAF Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.
However, Mokoena and Aubaas will sit out the clash after the former was completely ruled out after sustaining an injury against Guinea while the latter was replaced earlier on in the tie against the Eritreans.
The South African Football Association has now confirmed the absence of the two players.
“The midfield will be the biggest challenge for Mosimane as Bathusi Aubaas and Teboho Mokoena are out with injuries and will play no part on Sunday,” SAFA said on their website.
