TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi has revealed why he rejected Kaizer Motaung Jr’s bid of R4 million for Seluleko Mahlambi.
Mahlambi joined TS Galaxy from Cape Town City at the beginning of the 2024/25 season. The 22-year-old who is the younger brother of Phakamani Mahlambi made 44 appearances Galaxy since joining the side, scoring six goals and contributing a further six assists.
In the recent PSL transfer window, Mahlambi was rumoured to be wanted by the big three, Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns but nothing materialized.
Speaking with Andile Ncube on Metro FM, Sukazi explained that Chiefs did reach out to Galaxy, but what they offered didn’t match what Galaxy values Mahlambi at; therefore, the offer was rejected.
“There’s never been a monetary offer outside Kaizer Chiefs — they did table an offer — Kaizer Jr tabled a R4m offer. I thought really, it wasn’t good enough in my view,” Sukazi said.
“Seluleko at least, he should be on R10 million and above at least; that’s his number, he’s young and Kaizer was not prepared to budge.
“R4-million was the number and then he stood his ground, we stood our ground. “
