SA U23 men’s national team head coach Raymond Mdaka has named a 37-man preliminary squad for the 2028 LA Olympic Games qualifiers against Madagascar in November.
Amaglug-glug take on the islanders in two-legged second round fixtures set to be staged at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville, Pretoria.

Just like with their women counterparts, who also had to play their qualifying fixtures on Mzansi soil as they do not have FIFA approved stadiums, Madagascar will host the first leg on Wednesday, 14 November at 15h00, while the reverse match will be played on Saturday, 17 November at 20h00.
The most notable inclusion is that of Bafana Bafana attacker Shandre Campbell who was most recently in camp with the senior men’s squad for the 2027 AFCON Qualifers double header against Guinea and Eritrea while he provided the assist as Bafana beat Egypt 1-0 in a friendly international.
On Friday, Madaka named his 37-man squad as they look to seal their passage into the next round.

Should they progress from Round 2, their Round 3 fixtures will also be two-legged ties with the first leg kicking off on 22 March 2027 and second leg 30 March 2027.
