Orlando Pirates duo Linda Mntambo and Zakhele Lepasa took the liberty to give back on Christmas for families in need.
Being a professional footballer comes with its perks as they are in the limelight and serve as role models for many youngsters aspiring to reach the level of their professional status.
But it also comes with responsibility and the Buccaneers stars showcased that as they compiled food for 10 families on Christmas eve on Friday afternoon.
Lepasa , who recently returned to first-team action after more than a year on the sidelines, took to social media to draw attention to their efforts while stating they hope to grow the initiative.
“Football has allowed me and Linda Mntambo to link up and we managed to buy 10 groceries worth a month to 10 different families this Christmas eve,” he wrote on his official Twitter account.
“With God’s guidance, we hope to grow and help more families in the near future.”
