Zungu – What I Told Bobby Over Sithebe

AmaZulu president Sandile Zungu has revealed what he told Kaizer Chiefs Football Manager Bobby Motaung over Amakhosi’s attempts to sign Siyethemba Sithebe.

The Glamour Boys are keen on the attacking midfielder, whose contract runs out in June and is free to talk to club’s this month.

However, Zungu insists Chiefs did not follow proper procedures and already approached Sithebe before 1 January.

As a consequence, AmaZulu reserve the right to take Chiefs to court and Zungu revealed he addressed the issue with Motaung as well.

“Yes, Sithebe is going to Chiefs if they have concluded everything with him or at the very least at the end of the season,” Zungu said, as per SunSport.

“If they want to take him now, we informed them that this is what we want, and we still reserve our rights to take legal actions to the highest court.

“Chiefs weren’t honest in the deal because they agreed terms without the January window being opened in signing a pre-contract (when the player is left with six-month)

“In December, when we were on holiday, they had completed everything with him and you know the window only opened on 1 January.

“I told Bobby Motaung that I’m not happy at all about this.”

Zungu also reiterated that Sithebe will not play for AmaZulu again, even in case he will not leave the club before the end of the January window.

“He won’t wear the Usuthu jersey again in the second half of the season,” the Usuthu president added.

“That shows we are not very happy about the way he’s leaving the club.

“This one exploded and it smells bad, and the reason for that is because of his agent and the club that wanted him.”

Sithebe made 20 appearances in all competitions for AmaZulu this season.
