Ronald Pfumbidzai admits he’s relishing the chance that Chippa United has afforded him after seeing his career stall at Royal AM this season.
Pfumbidzai, 27, was unveiled on Thursday alongside Siphelele Luthuli after both players were released by Royal AM.
The Zimbabwe international fell out of favour under coach John Maduka when AM took over Bloemfontein Celtic at the beginning of the season—and is still yet to play in the DStv Premiership this season.
“Firstly, I want to say I’m very happy to get this opportunity, I just want to thank Chippa management and coaches for the opportunity, I think I’m ready,” he told the club’s media department.
“For now, my focus is to get in the field of play because I think it has been a month without playing football. So, the focus now is to work with my fitness and get back in the field of play, and I think everything will go as planned.
“For me, I don’t think it was a difficult decision to join Chippa because it has been some time Chippa wanted me, I think is two or three years ago, they gave me a call, but I was still at Celtic, and I was happy there.
“When they called me again, I didn’t hesitate because I wasn’t playing there because of certain things, so I just said yes.”
Pfumbidzai holds extensive experience, having played in the Denmark top-flight and CAF Champions League before arriving in South Africa with Bloemfontein Celtic back in August 2017.
