Ahead of Wednesday’s game against Bloemfontein Celtic, Owen Da Gama says it is the unity at TS Galaxy that has been key so far since he took over at the club.
Da Gama, who replaced Dan Malesela midway through this DStv Premiership season, says that Celtic have done very well this season, and will be tough opponents.
Celtic are currently 10th on 18 points, while Galaxy are 11th with 16 points.
“With my experiences with Bafana Bafana, I’ve learned not to complain whether we were playing in Mali or Sudan. The conditions were not very good in those countries. Even the pitches were not very good. We never complained. Not even once. We went through the qualifiers unbeaten. We never complained about conditions or traveling. People don’t realize how many games we’ve played away from home but we don’t make big deal out of it,” Da Gama told the club’s website.
“We’ve just carried on and done what we have to do. Management and the whole technical have done well in managing the situation. We’ve all been united. That unity is the strength of what we’ve achieved so far. It is not about the coach but the unity within the team. Everybody wants to win.”
“We are playing a Celtic team that has done very well. They are above us on the log. There’s something painful now that we will play Celtic. When I was at Highlands Park last season, they beat us on goal-difference to finish in the top eighth.”
