WCQ 2022: Ghana Announce 27-Man Squad

After an underwhelming AFCON 2021 performance, new Ghana Coach Otto Addo has named a 27-man squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying playoffs against Nigeria.

The Back Stars will take on with the Super Eagles in a two-legged tie which will determine who advances to the global showpiece later this year.

Addo, who’s taken over from Milovan Rajevac, will be aiming for a positive result as the new dawn of the Black Stars begins under his guidance, while former Brighton and Newcastle boss Chris Houghton has been appointed in a technical advisor role.

The first leg will be played in Kumasi at the Baba Yara Stadium on Friday and the second leg will take place in Abuja four days later.
