Brakkies Cites Jose Mazibuko Tactics For Sundowns Opener

Sekhukhune United head coach Brandon Truter has suggested he may need to bring out the Jose Mazibuko tactics for Mamelodi Sundowns for their DStv Premiership opener.

The Nedbank Cup finalists open the season against the reigning league champions on Friday in Polokwane in what’s likely to be a mouthwatering affair.

Both sides have made impressive signings in the market but Sundowns, have shown they may have taken things to the next level, having beaten Eredivisie sides Go Ahead Eagles, Sparta Rotterdam and playing to a draw with Belgian top-flight outfit KAA Gent in their pre-season tour of the Netherlands.

“I might go Jose Mazibuko 9-0-1 but ya, it’s a good test for us, Sundowns has raised the bar yet again, [look] at their results coming out of their pre-season camp in Europe, it’s massive and it augurs well for South African football,” Truter said when asked by iDiski Times of their intentions in the season opener.

“Sundowns keep raising the bar as other clubs [in the PSL] you would want to close it, I think it’s key for us but I have a good squad this season, I’m very excited to get started and who better to get started… and test against Sundowns.

“We’ll know exactly where we are [as a team]. But it’s a difficult game, it’s an interesting game but also a game that doesn’t [determine] your season, let’s put it that way.”

The two sides meet next Friday evening at the Peter Mokaba Stadium at 19h30.
